Bra order arrived incomplete: what can you do?

Bra order arrived incomplete: what can you do?

Missing a bra from your package even though you ordered more than one? That usually comes down to a packing mistake, an order that shipped in two boxes, or a piece still tucked inside the packaging. First check your packing slip and your shipping email, then reach out to customer service: in almost every case, the missing piece just gets shipped out again. Below we walk through the four most common causes step by step, so you can figure out what's going on before you even send that email.

1. Your packing slip doesn't match what's in your hands

The most common reason something's missing is a simple packing mistake. Every order gets counted and packed by hand, and when someone's busy or having an off day, things slip through. Annoying, but it's the easiest cause to spot.

Try this: pull the packing slip out of the box and lay it next to the bras you unpacked. Count exactly how many are listed and how many you're actually holding. If the slip says 3 and you've got 1 bra in your lap, you know for sure something's missing, no need to second-guess yourself.

While you're at it, check whether the sizes and colors on the packing slip match what you actually received. Sometimes the count is right, but you got the same size twice instead of the two different sizes you ordered. That's technically not a missing item, but it is a wrong shipment, and you report it the same way to customer service.

2. Your order shipped in two packages

Sometimes your order isn't incomplete, it's just still on the way in a second box. That happens when not all sizes or colors were in stock at the same time, or when an order is simply too big to fit in one shipping bag.

Try this: open your inbox and search for "shipped" or "tracking." If you find two shipping confirmations with separate tracking numbers, your order was split and the second part is still on its way. Click both links: only if a single package is showing and it's already been delivered do you know something's truly missing.

Keep in mind a second shipment sometimes goes out a few days after the first, especially if a size had to come back in stock. Didn't get a second shipping email at all? Check your spam folder too: tracking emails sometimes end up there, especially if your inbox filters aggressively.

3. The missing piece is still somewhere in the packaging

Bras are flat and light, and they easily disappear between tissue paper or get tucked into the fold of another bra. You pull out the top one, see just one, and assume something's missing, while the second one is still folded inside the cup of the first.

Try this: shake the whole box out onto a table and unfold all the paper and packaging bags instead of tossing them right away. Check the cups of the bra you already have too: a second one slides in there more easily than you'd think.

A good rule of thumb: don't throw anything out until you're sure there's nothing left inside. Run your hand along the inside of every packaging bag and check the edges of the shipping box itself, a bra can get caught behind a fold of cardboard during transit. Only once you've emptied the whole box and recounted can you say for sure that something's really missing.

4. A promotion or bundle discount wasn't processed right

If you ordered with a buy-2-get-1 deal or a bundle discount, your order is really made up of two lines: the bras you picked yourself, and the extra piece the promotion adds. If those two lines don't get processed together, you'll end up missing the exact piece the discount was on.

Try this: read back through your order confirmation and count the lines. If the promotion shows up on the confirmation but not in the box, you're right, and it's just a matter of reporting it. Also check our current bundle deals to see if your promotion still works the same way.

Not sure the promotion actually applied to your order, say because the terms were a bit different for your quantity or size? Check the total on your confirmation. If a discount was applied, the extra piece should be in there regardless, and you can report it without first figuring out whether you qualified.

What to do if something really is missing

Gone through all four points above and still missing something? Time to email customer service. Include your order number, say exactly which item is missing, and take a photo of the packing slip next to the contents of the box. The more specific your message, the faster someone can look into it.

Try to do this within a few days of receiving your order. Not because a later report won't get handled, but because you'll still remember exactly how the box and packaging looked, and your photos will be clearer. So hang onto the packaging and paper for a bit, in case customer service has follow-up questions about how the package arrived.

Paid for the full order, only got half of it.

That's exactly the feeling you want to avoid. Our own customer reviews show that mistakes like this usually get fixed fast: customers who reported a missing piece often had it shipped out again within a few days, at no cost. If you don't hear back after your first message, go ahead and send a clear follow-up with the same order number.

  • Your order number, found in the confirmation email
  • Exactly which item is missing, including size and color
  • A photo of the packing slip next to the opened box

How to avoid this next time

Nobody can rule out mistakes entirely, but you can lower the odds. If you order multiple bras at once, check right when it arrives, not a week later, that everything's there. The sooner you notice, the easier it is to piece together what happened, and the faster it gets resolved.

Also hang onto your order confirmation and shipping emails until you're sure everything arrived correctly, instead of archiving or deleting them right away. That way, if you do need to report something, you won't have to hunt for the right order number and product details. It saves you time, and it helps customer service figure out what's missing faster too.

Why it stings extra when that exact piece is missing

Of the nearly 2,900 women we asked about their biggest bra frustration, more than half named a physical complaint: an underwire digging in, straps cutting in, a back getting no support. You're not just ordering something new, you're ordering relief from that feeling. So it stings a little more when the bra that was finally supposed to feel like a relief isn't in the box.

That's exactly what our Daily Essential Bra is built around, that moment you put it on: memory foam cups that shape to you, and a 3-inch band that carries the weight off your shoulders instead of digging into your ribs. If one's missing from your package, you'll understand right away why you want it back as soon as possible.

Frequently asked questions

Will I get the missing item shipped for free?

Yes, if it turns out something is actually missing from your order, the missing piece gets shipped out at no extra cost to you, including shipping. This applies whether it's a single item or a piece that was part of a bundle deal.

Do I need to return the rest of my order if something's missing?

No, you keep what you already received. Only the missing piece gets shipped separately, the rest of your order stays yours. You don't need to pack up or return anything while you wait for the missing piece.

How long does it take to hear back from customer service?

It varies depending on the time of year, but you'll usually hear back within a few business days. If it's been a while, send a friendly follow-up with your order number. See also what to do if a refund is taking a while, the approach is the same.

What if the whole package never arrived, not just part of it?
