Test winner: the Posture Lift, here in black

Desk wear test · October 2026

A workday at your desk. What time did your shoulders start pulling?

  • 6 testers
  • cups B to DD
  • ages 31 to 54
  • 10 workdays

By 4 pm your shoulders know how you've been sitting.

A bra that fits well in the morning doesn't tell you much if you sit at a screen all day. You slide forward a little. The weight then hangs from two thin straps, and somewhere around 3 o'clock you feel it in your neck. A quick shoulder roll, and back to work.

So this time we ran the wear test at the desk. Six women with office jobs, cups B to DD, ages 31 to 54. Ten workdays, two per bra, from 8 am to 10 pm. Every hour one check mark: feels fine, shoulders or neck pulling, or it has to come off.

840 hours in total. Three of the five started pulling around lunchtime. One lasted the whole day for five testers.

What time did the shoulders start pulling?

Averaged over 6 testers and 10 workdays at a desk. Every hour one check mark: feels fine, shoulders or neck pulling, or it has to come off.

What surprised us most: the most expensive bra was off by 4 pm. What counted was where the weight went. On number 1 it sat on the band around the ribs, and you don't feel it there.

Marlies Dekkers lace plunge bra

Marlies Dekkers lace plunge bra

$119.95

  • Beautiful lace, a bra that feels like a splurge
  • Fits nicely up to a C cup
  • Thin straps: at the desk, the neck started pulling from 12:30 pm
  • The underwire pressed as soon as you leaned forward

Two closures, and that's the whole point

The back sets your size, the front sets the support. Mix them up and the first day is tricky. Two of our testers found that out too.

Back: the shoulder panels meet in one piece. Below them runs the band, with a strip of hooks in the middle. Here in leopard.
Front: the band around your ribs closes in the middle, under your breasts. You can see what you're doing.

On in four steps

  1. First, the hooks on your back

A regular hook closure, like on any bra. Fasten it firmly. If it's loose, the band will pull the whole bra up later.

  2. Over your head

It stretches, so no wriggling needed.

  3. Stand up straight for a moment

Shoulders back. That's how you'll wear it, so that's how you adjust it.

  4. Fasten the band in front

Pull the band tight and hook it in the middle, under your breasts. This is where you decide how snug it sits.

From the front: wide shoulder panels and the band you tighten yourself. Here in nude.

Why the Posture Lift made it through the workday

The only bra in this test where 5 of the 6 testers still had no check mark at “pulling” by evening.

  1. What we saw every hour

With the thin-strapped bras it went the same way every time. After about 3 hours of typing, your shoulders slide forward a bit and the weight goes with them, straight onto the straps. Around lunch your neck starts. With the Posture Lift that line stayed flat. Tester 3 (36D, age 44, planner) wrote on day 4: “At 5 pm I noticed I was still sitting up straight. That never happens.”

  2. The band carries the weight

On a regular bra, the weight of your breasts hangs from two straps less than an inch wide. The Posture Lift has a separate, wide band that you pull around your ribs and close in front. That band carries the weight, so your shoulders don't have to. And the wide shoulder panels lie flat and don't pull your shoulders forward, so sitting up straight feels easier.

  3. Under clothes

Seamless cups and no underwire. It looks like a sleeveless top, so under a T-shirt or blouse you don't see any straps. Under a camisole with spaghetti straps you do see the wide shoulder panels.

Choosing a size

The Posture Lift comes in S to 3XL, for cups A to DD and band sizes 32 to 44. A few examples from the size chart: 34C is a medium (M), 36D is a large (L) and 38DD is a 2XL. If you're a DDD/F cup or bigger, look at number 2.

Guarantee

30-day perfect fit guarantee. If the size isn't right, you exchange it. If you don't want to keep it, send it back and get your money back.

What the testers wrote down

From our test panel's hourly logs, with their usual bra size and the day of the test.

day 3

“At 4 pm I usually have my hand on my neck. Not today. I wrote it down twice because I didn't believe it myself.”
Tester 134C, age 38

day 1

“The first morning I found it stiff. Like a sports bra. After lunch I didn't think about it anymore.”
Tester 438C, age 51

day 6

“I work at the kitchen table on a laptop, so I'm always hunched over. In this one I slumped less. A small difference, but my shoulders noticed.”
Tester 232D, age 33

day 1

“One downside: you have to figure out how it goes on. Back closed first, then the band in front. The other way around, it rolled up on me.”
Tester 640C, age 54

Where can you buy the Posture Lift?

Only on Monavida's own website. That's also where the 30-day perfect fit guarantee applies. Take more than one and each bra costs less: $34.95 in a 2-Pack, $29.95 in a 3-Pack. That's $89.85 for three, and shipping is free.

What size should I get?
In the size chart on the official website you look up your band and cup. A few examples: 32B is a small (S), 36C is a large (L) and 40D is a 2XL. Not sure? Go by the band: it should sit snugly around your ribs.
I'm a DDD/F cup or bigger. Now what?
Then the Posture Lift is out, because it goes up to a DD cup. The Daily Essential, number 2 in this test, goes up to an H cup and also has a wide band.
Isn't it too tight?
On day one it feels firmer than a regular bra, more like a sports bra. Four of the six testers didn't notice it anymore by day 2.
And if it doesn't fit?
Then you exchange it for another size within 30 days. That's covered by the 30-day perfect fit guarantee.

The test winner, now $29.95 per bra in a 3-Pack

Three Posture Lifts for $89.85. Pick your size on the official website, and if it doesn't fit, you exchange it.

Runs the wear tests at Bra Test Lab

After our last wear test we got a lot of email from women with office jobs, and it was almost always about their neck.

So we did it again, at the desk. I sit 8 hours a day myself, and in the first week I just did the checklist along with them.
